Thumbs Up
-Edge and Kane actually feuding. While the bit with Paul Bearer at the end of the show was lame, at least they're doing something to build this match.
-Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio, match of the night.
-Layla and Natalya having an actual wrestling match. That's two in one week for the Divas... is it raining frogs yet?
-Otunga not getting kicked out of Nexus. Would've been pointless to do so, he's certainly not ready to be out on his own and there's no reason to keep chipping away at Nexus' numbers.
-Finlay sighting!
Thumbs Down
-MVP vs. Dolph Ziggler was disappointing. Ziggler's been on fire the last few weeks and I thought MVP would impress with the little bit of momentum he's built, but the match just didn't click for me and the ending was wonky. I think MVP's ship is in the process of sailing.
-Big Show vs. Kane in the main event? No thank you.
-And while I'm glad they're doing stuff with Edge and Kane, again, I have to say, the match won't be nearly as good as the matches that led to its creation.
-Why are there still only three matches announced for Survivor Series when it's a week away?
Overall, not a very good episode of Smackdown. The matches were not up to Smackdown's usual high standards and the addition of Michael Cole to commentary gets my finger closer to the mute button every single week. This show was a wasted opportunity with the PPV so close, nothing memorable and little in terms of story progression.
Really, when MVP can't even win the IC title during what could have been the obligatory title change whilst in the UK, you know he's not in anyone's good books.
