Match of the Month - June 2010

Match of the Month is a feature I've unfortunately forgotten about lately, and I'm bringing it back for the month of June, but unfortunately, June wasn't that great for wrestling. I've fallen behind on my ROH viewing, so that certainly doesn't help, but here are my favorite matches from the last 30 days:

3. Jack Swagger vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. Big Show - Fatal 4-Way
This match wasn't perfect, I thought it was too short and Kane's interference was a distraction, but the action was exciting and Rey Mysterio's win was a true feel-good moment. Plus, it made a lot of smarks angry, which always brings a little smile to my face.

2. R-Truth vs. John Morrison vs. Zack Ryder vs. The Miz - Raw June 14th
I still don't understand why they didn't save this match for the PPV, rather than giving us the painfully boring Miz vs. R-Truth one-on-one match. Considering how short the F4W PPV ran, this match could've helped pad things out a bit. Regardless of what show it was on though, it was a great match that returned the United States Title to its rightful owner. Morrison hitting that sunset flip powerbomb to the outside has to be the NASTY! moment of the month as well.

But there can only be one Match of the Month, and that award goes to:

1. Chris Jericho vs. Evan Bourne - Fatal 4-Way
C'mon, did anything else in WWE even come close? Well, their rematch from the following night's Raw certainly did, and I'm not sure if that says more about how awesome Jericho and Bourne are or how bad June was for wrestling on free TV. Bourne looked like a Superstar in this match, I'd say it certainly earned him a spot in the upcoming RAW Money in the Bank match, and Jericho showed once again why he is the best in the world. This match had everything you need in a pro wrestling match, and if you haven't seen it, find it!

So did I get it right? Did my residence inside the WWE Bubble hurt the return of Match of the Month? Your feedback is welcome and appreciated.
