  2. My opinions on unprotected chair shots was really made after seeing The Rock vs. Mick Foley in Beyond the Mat. That was one of the most brutal things I've ever seen... and we've all seen Foley take a lot of punishment for the craft.

  3. Not to mention how traumatising it was for his wife and children to witness. That was certainly a harrowing match, and critics of the chair shot ban should watch that part of the film.

    In an era in which everyone knows that pro wrestling isn't a legitimate competitive sport, having wrestlers strike each other in the skull with a heavy piece of metal is no longer worthwhile, if ever it was. As Jim Cornette said, with hardcore wrestling now having reached the point at which guys are now having to hit each other twice as hard in order to get half the reaction from the fans, each chair shot to the head is now taking much more away from a wrestler's health than it is adding to a match.
