Kick-Out's Superstars Thoughts - April 30, 2009

Divas Tag Match was what it was and seeing Maria for the first time in seemingly forever was a surprise, but that's about the only noteworthy thing I can say about the match. Is McCool's finisher now that boot to an opponent coming off the top rope? Not nearly as stiff as it was to Mickie James a few weeks ago, but I feel like that's a surefire way to someone to lose some teeth.

Paul Burchill and Evan Bourne put on another great performance, not as good as their outing last week on ECW, but still one of the best matches on TV this week. When Burchill was on Raw, I was literally at the point where I'd rather be watching commercials, but just like the brand revitalized guys like John Morrison, The Miz and Shelton Benjamin, ECW is doing wonders for "The Ripper." Bourne continued to impress, the one-legged Shooting Star Press was just ridiculous... I'm beginning to wonder if this guy is even human.

Ted DiBiase vs. Carltio was pretty much exactly what I expected and I feel like this is the beginning of a feud over the Tag Titles. Right now, it's not a question of if Legacy will have the WWE and Tag Team Titles, it's when.

Okay, so this is pretty much what I expected the show to look like once the initial hype wore off. One match per brand featuring non-main eventers. I like this format, but aside from Bourne/Burchill, I wasn't all that into the show. I think it's just getting settled in after the Draft taking effect, but WWE's only got two weeks until Judgment Day, so they need to ramp things up. Then again, they rushed the hype for Backlash and that turned out to be a decent PPV, so maybe I should just relax. All this negativity these last couple days is making me feel like a smark... I need a shower.
