Kick-Out's WrestleMania Predictions

With WrestleMania 25 less than 24 hours away, I figured I should probably get my predictions in before it's too late. With WWE's recent attempts for their PPVs to be as unpredictable as possible, I've been completely bombing in predictions these last few months and I honestly don't expect this to be any different.

Diva Battle Royal
Considering that we don't even know who all is going to be in this match, I have no idea who's going to win this thing. A Diva from the past could win for nostalgia, but I'll go ahead and predict Beth Phoenix to win, since she's the best female wrestler in the country right now and deserves to be recognized.

Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy - Extreme Rules
I'll be honest, I just want this match to be over and done with. Brother vs. Brother worked with Bret and Owen Hart because there was still a touch of innocence to the feud, Matt vs. Jeff just makes me uncomfortable. I'm predicting a decisive Jeff Hardy win, in hopes that this is the end to the feud.

The Miz & John Morrison © vs. Carlito & Primo © - Tag Team Title Unification
Miz & Morrison are the best tag team in years, no question they're winning this one.

© vs. Rey Mysterio - Intercontinental Championship
A tough one to predict. If you believe the internet rumors that JBL is retiring, I could see him dropping the belt to Mysterio, but I could also see him retiring with the belt as a tribute to his 14 years of loyalty to WWE. I don't put too much stock in rumors, but I'll go ahead and predict JBL to win since Rey already got a decisive victory over him on Raw last Monday.

Chris Jericho vs. Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka & Ricky Steamboat - Elimination Match
Another tough one to call due to all the outside factors in this match. Does Ric Flair interfere? Will Mickey Rourke get involved? Will someone help Jericho? All I know is I'm hoping for at least ten minutes of Jericho and Steamboat going at it. This is Ricky Steamboat's first WrestleMania in 21 years and his first match since 1994, I hope he's given some time to shine. I'll predict the Legends to win, but I expect all sorts of shenanigans.

Money In the Bank
Definitely the toughest match on the card to predict, it's really anybody's ballgame this year. Last year was a bit of a surprise, but every MITB before has had a fairly obvious winner... definitely not this year. I'll go ahead and eliminate CM Punk winning two years in a row since there's not really any point to it; Kane's been booked as the odds-on favorite, which is too obvious in my opinion; I'm not sure if Mark Henry can even climb the ladders WWE uses in these matches; and I doubt Finlay is going to be getting a main event run any time soon. That leaves MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston and Christian as my top four candidates. Completely random guess here, but I'll say Christian gets the win since he's who I want to win. MVP winning wouldn't surprise me though.

© vs. John Cena vs. The Big Show - World Heavyweight Championship
Another match that could really go in any direction, and I think a lot of it depends on what the plan is for the upcoming Draft on April 13. There's also the ongoing story of whoever wins gets Vickie Guerrero's love and affection, but I think the Vickie love sagas have run their course. I'll say Cena gets the win here, brings the World Title back to Raw and Vickie Guerrero takes a vacation to get her groove back. EXCUSE ME!

Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker - Mr. WrestleMania vs. The Streak
These two haven't met in a WWE ring since January of 1998, and despite Undertaker being with the company since 1990 and HBK debuting in 1988, this will be only their fourth one-on-one encounter. Sorry Shawn, you got to retire Ric Flair last year, but you're not touching The Streak. Undertaker goes 17-0 here and this is my prediction for match of the night, as well as an early prediction for match of the year.

Triple H © vs. Randy Orton - WWE Championship
A storied rivalry culminating in a match for the richest prize in the industry, I expect both men to bring their A-game for this one, especially since their last match ended on a sour note due to Randy Orton's collarbone injury. I honestly have no idea who's going to win this one, I think Triple H should win because this feud needs a happy ending after the disturbing encounter between Orton and Stephanie McMahon two weeks ago, but I'm going to predict Randy Orton. Bonus prediction: Orton wins the WWE Title and gets drafted to Smackdown the following week where he'll have a whole slew of new opponents.

Please feel free to leave your predictions in the comments, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. And make sure to check back Monday morning for my full thoughts on this historic event.
